The KCI IBS - Gel system is a two part mix IBS-01 (base fluid) and IBS-02 (activator).
When mixed both products establish a gel named IBS-01 Gel. The mixed products can be deployed in a fluid state to obtain access to large cavity areas through existing injection fittings (against pressure if required).
Once injected the product will solidify as a gel and provide a chemical self-energising pressure barrier against an existing mechanical sealing system which has failed (subject to the application).
The product has been designed to float on sea water to provide vertical access if required.

Designed to support a temporary environmental barrier when the valve is leaking when in the closed position
The IBS is injected into the valve cavity as a fluid and converts to a solid gel material.
