The KCI Mac-Seal is a compound developed as a static support seal between an existing damaged wellhead and valve stem sealing areas.
The Mac-Seal Compound is deployed in a fluid state (against pressure if required) and converts to a self-bonding pressure energised solid materal to re-establish a pressure retaining barrier.
The Mac-Seal product is currently being used within the oil & gas industry to support leaking environmental barriers at pressure / temperature and in mixed fluid systems i.e. wellhead tubing hanger and valve stem packing areas.
It is also being considered for the following:
- To support coil tubing abandonment
- Wire line deployment in supporting thread profile tubing leaks.
- Packer leakage
- Tubing plug (temporary or permanent)
- Pigging control lines
- Control line plug
