Control Line Leak Repair with IG-FP

The Client 

We were contacted by an operator to support with a subsea control line leak in a new region of the world for us – India. 

Although this was a location we hadn’t worked in before, we didn’t hesitate to scope out the requirements to ensure we were able to deliver the same level of quality that our current customers expect from KCI. 

The Results 

Using our unique engineered solution, we were able to inject the product from a production platform and cure the large leak while retaining full operation of the safety valve.  

We efficiently restored the integrity of the hydraulic system to allow the well to be safely brought back online. 

The client was very satisfied with the efficiency, professionalism, and quality of the work carried out by the team. 

The Challenge 

The client experienced a well shut-in for several month due to a subsea control line leak to sea. The leak was located at the NPT fitting below the control line stab, reported at 10-20 litres per hour.  

The Solution 

Our team deployed our fully engineered IG-FP sealant to provide a robust, safe and long-lasting isolation into the control line. This was then followed by a standard control fluid to place and energise the sealant and repair the hydraulic system leak.  

Finally, a thorough testing program to ensure the isolation was safe and fit for purpose.
